Furnace inspection and maintenance in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho

Yearly maintenance of your gas powered furnace here in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho ensures that your furnace is running at it's best through out the winter. A comprehensive furnace inspection is needed yearly to identify potential problems that could result in fires or carbon monoxide leakage. As part of the inspection we also perform a furnace tune up to rectify small calibration problems that can occur on different components. Some of the areas we cover on our furnace maintenancecheck list are:

  1. Heat Exchanger Inspection
Heat exchangers can develop cracks with age. These cracks allow dangerous carbon monoxide to leak into your ducts. Breathing carbon monoxide can cause serious illness or even death.

  2. Burner Inspection
Dirty burners can cause poor combustion, condensation, soot and will shorten the life of the furnace.

  3. Wiring
Wiring can become cracked or burnt and can cause shorts or other problems.

  4. Blower And Blower Motor Inspection
These areas are often neglected for years and will become choked with debris which creates turbulence inside the blower causing the blower motor to work harder. The blower motor also becomes clogged not allowing it to breath which can cause it to over heat or burn out completely.

  5. Gas Line And Flue Pipe
Leaks can develop in the gas line, its connections and the flue pipe is susceptible to corrosion which can cause holes that leak carbon monoxide.

Many more items are covered on our furnace changeover checklist.

heating changeover also includes the winterization of your swamp cooler. We disconnect and drain the cooler, cover it with any canvas covers you provide to protect it from freezing damage.

As part of your furnace changeover we can also calibrate or replace old thermostats. Is your furnace getting old? We can recommend and install the latest in high efficiency 2 stage or modulating furnaces.
