Every year the water authority returns more than $1 million to their customers in the form of rebates designed to help their customers bear the cost of implementing water-saving measures. Below is a list of the rebates that are being offered in Albuquerque. Central Plumbing Albuquerque can install and fill out any forms needed for qualifying installations.
Shower Heads, Toilets, and Urinal Rebates
Save water and get a $10 rebate by replacing your existing shower head with a Water Sense Approved Shower Head.
Toilets can account for more than 30 percent of indoor residential water use. A great way to save water is to install a high-efficiency toilet which uses 1.28 gallons per flush or less. Rebates of $100 per toilet are available when you switch out old high-flow toilets, and these rebates apply to both residential and commercial customers. $50 rebates are available for conversion from low-flow (1.6 gallon-per flush) toilets to high-efficiency toilets.
Conversion of urinals to a one pint or waterless urinal will qualify for a $75 rebate. In addition, installation of waterless or one pint urinals in new construction also qualify for the rebate.

Washing Machine Rebates $100
High-efficiency washers use approximately 25 gallons per load versus 40 to 50 gallons per load for older machines. The washing machine is the second biggest water-user in most households; only toilets will use more water. The next washing machine you buy will have an enormous effect on the amount of water you'll use over the next 10 years. That's why the Water Authority will give you a $100 rebate on your water bill when you buy a qualifying high-efficiency washing machine. With a high efficiency washer, you can:
Save Wear and Tear on Clothing
Save Drying Time
High-efficiency washing machines use half the water of traditional top loaders. And the continuous but gently tumbling action gets clothes cleaner without the wear and tear of an agitator.
How to Apply
Fill out the High Efficiency Washing Machine Rebate Form and mail it with the original receipt to the address referenced on the form.
Hot Water Re-circulation System Rebate: $100
Purchase your Hot Water Re-circulating System anywhere and receive a $100 rebate on your water bill.
Having hot water discharge promptly is important for energy and water conservation. A re-circulating system enables the cold water in the hot water pipes to be continually returned to the water heater and reheated before the hot water faucet is turned on.
How to Apply
Print out the rebate Hot Water Re-circulation Systems Rebate Form and mail it in along with a copy of the hot water re-circulating system sale receipt. Once received and processed, a $100 credit will be applied to your water bill.
Evaporative Cooler Thermostat Rebate: $25
Evaporative cooler thermostats save both water and energy while keeping you more comfortable.
You set the thermostat to a temperature that is comfortable for you, and then the thermostat turns the cooler on and off as necessary to keep your house at the desired temperature. Most thermostats come with a feature that soaks the cooler pads prior to blowing air though them which means the air is cool the second the fan turns on.

To qualify for the PNM $300 evaporative cooler rebate in Albuquerque, you need to install a qualifying evaporative cooler. A list of all qualifying coolers can be found on PNM's Website.

Participants must meet two requirements:
The installation address must have an active retail water system account in good standing with the Water Authority.
Participants must be owners or agents of the properties at the addresses where water service is delivered.
How do I get the credit?
Your rebate credit will offset your water bill (or electric bill). If, for example, you qualify for a $100 rebate, and your monthly water bill is only $25, you will have a credit balance for eight months. The rebate will be applied to the total bill for water, sewer, and refuse.
Who can install?
Homeowners may install their toilets themselves, or they can hire any plumber or plumbing contractor licensed in the State of New Mexico to do the job. The changeout must be verified by a licensed plumbing contractor.
Who pays the plumber?
Owners are responsible for selecting, scheduling, and paying the plumber. The Water Authority's role begins when the plumber verifies to the Water Authority that the work has been done. Random inspections will be done by appointment to check form accuracy.
